It is reported that US Senator Sherrod Brown, after organizing the FTX crash hearing, said that banning cryptocurrencies was "very difficult".

When the chairman of the Senate Committee on Financial Institutions interviewed Chuck Todd, the host of NBC's Meet the Press program, he had promoted the implementation of a large number of controls on the cryptocurrency sales market, and did not rule out the application of a complete ban.

However, Brown recognized that such a positive ban may not be possible at all.

"It may be prohibited, although it is difficult to prohibit it, because he will go abroad, who ever expected how this should work."

Brown held the FTX hearing on December 14, saying that the cryptocurrency sales market is a "complex and unregulated money bank"

Brown said,

"For most of the past eight and a half years, I have served as the chairman of the Financial Institutions, Housing and Metropolitan Affairs Management Committee, educated my colleagues, and constantly educated the people about cryptocurrencies and threats to our national defense security and consumers, which can be taken in by them."

Brown indicated that the problem of cryptocurrency is not just FTX.

In a letter published last month, Brown stipulated that U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen should hold a working meeting with other regulators to discuss "formulating laws and establishing management authority for regulators to master and guide the theme activities of affiliated enterprises and subsidiaries of encrypted assets"
