Bitcoin Falls Further. Regulators Are Keeping Up the Pressure.

The Securities and Exchange Commission recently outlined a proposal which could strengthen its powers to regulate decentralized finance—or DeFi—platforms, which play a key role in cryptocurrency trading. Beyond Bitcoin, —the second-largest crypto—dropped more than 2% to around $1,1835. Smaller cryptos or altcoins were weaker, with falling around 3% and down 5%.
